I Now Understand Why People Keep Journals or Blog.

My last blog post was a memorial for Mr. Optimus.  After reading it, all the sadness came back, along with memories.  Since he died I was able to focus on working and keeping busy, so I could not think about him, and thus the memories faded.

I suppose if you really wanted to recapture emotions you could routinely blog or journal about your life.  If you  want to re-feel everything, and if you chose to write up the good as well as the bad, then it would be ok.  Unfortunately I just happen to chronicle the bad ones, which leaves me less inclined to journal

Well, at least I understand it better - this propensity to write everything down- and  I have more respect for those people who can actually do it well.

In regards to Quilts to the Rescue.  We did get a shipment in of queen quilt tops, which is so exciting.  It will take a while to quilt them, but it will be so fun.  What I do get a little upset about, is when people who dont know anything about quilts, contact me for a present. They refer to them as a "blanket" or as one potential customer requested "bed in a bag".  Quilts are utilitarian art works.  The expense, the time involved, the creativity and artwork that goes into a quilt, should make it more like art to a shopper than a "Bed in a Bag".  What do those go for today anyway?  2-300 bucks? :-)

I have not posted in such a long time....

It is hard to believe that I have not written in so long.  Time flies faster as you get older.  I am not sure exactly why it feels that way, but there must be some sort of physiological explanation.  I think most have similar experiences.  I cant even remember what I have been doing, other than trying to stay above all the nuttiness.

Bear is a very smart dog.  He has realized the pill pockets contain pills.  Despite the fact that he needs his medication, I have not found a way to fool him.  I tried coating them  in butter, sticking pills into Italian meatballs, arranging steak bits alongside the pill pockets - but to no avail.  One in particular is essential - the antibiotics that keep him from having explosive diarrhea all over the house.

I seem to be failing at everything.  This last quilt started out with good intentions, then turned into a monstrosity.  Not only is it king sized, but king sized ugly.  I thought cute quilting would improve it, but it turned out to be an expensive waste of wool batting and metallic thread.  I cant even muster the energy up to bind it. I do love having a binding project that large for evenings on the couch in front of the idiot box, when my addled brain cant do much more than watch for stitch regularity, and occasionally glance up at the tv.  Maybe if I just dont look at the quilt, Ill be ok.

I must update our supporter and donor pages, as well as our rescue pages.  I think for now Ill just upload a picture of Bear in his wig.
