11th hour Rescue in New Jersey takes in dogs and cats about to be euthanized, from the entire tri-state area.  They are a volunteer only organization.  They foster all the animals themselves, in volunteers' homes.  They take the most serious cases, and we appreciate them so much!

Save our Seniors is a non-profit dedicated to senior Akita rescue.  Seniors are the first to be euthanized, and the last to be adopted.  Seniors make wonderful companions - they are calm, often trained and just want their basic needs met and some love.  They deserve to be rescued..Thanks to SOS for doing this important work.

Shadow cats is a rescue, hospice and senior cat care center.  They have a wonderful volunteer based center and they also devote many resources to stemming the feral cat population.  They are one of the largest, most well respected cat organizations in the country and we are grateful for their tireless efforts for the sick and older cats!

Big East Akita Rescue specializes in Akita rescue, and more specifically older Akita rescue.  Akitas are a proud, independent and large powerful breed.  They are often found on breed ban lists, and many shelters will not adopt them out.  They are not for everyone, but for the right pet parent, they are wonderful companions.  Thanks to BEAR for doing so much good for the breed!

The Humane Animal Treatment Society of Central Michigan has their main facility in Mt. Pleasant, MI.  They have reduced the number of euthanized animals in the area drastically, and work hard to rehome many needy cats and dogs.  Thanks HATS!

ARMAC or Akita Rescue of Mid Atlantic Coast has been an inadvertent recipient of QTTR quilts via a long time supporter of QTTR who runs a kennel in PA.  We hope that ARMAC will continue to be involved with QTTR!  ARMAC is also a volunteer run organization dedicated to the rescue of the noble Akita breed!
