Happy New Year Everyone! Sorry it has been so long since I posted. Things are busy, always so much to do and not enough time to do them! I finally quilted the beautiful tops that were donated, so we have three new crib sized quilts. I need to send thank you notes and take some photos of them to post on the site. I heard from another volunteer, that she will be making a top for us and will attempt to get her group working on quilts to donate to us! Also, we received a donation from Fabric.com, of $50.00, so that bought us a quilt backing for a queen sized quilt. Thank you Fabric.com for your support!
Karen Combs Studios also donated a huge box of fat quarters from her line of fabrics. Karen is a wonderful and talented quilter and an excellent teacher, probably the best, most patient quilt teacher that I have ever encountered. She is an avid pet lover and her specialty is illusion quilts. You should definitely visit her website and check out her works of art.
I was able to attend a lecture from Edyta Sitar, and tell her about our cause. She is a pet lover as well, and a talented quilt artist and teacher. I am hoping she will become a QTTR supporter!
Anyway, I promise not to be absent from the blog for so long, and will keep you updated on our progress. Key word: Progress....
