I have not blogged in so long...Please forgive me!

Hi Everyone;
It has been too long, I am so sorry.  The past two years have been very hard.  Both my parents passed away, after much suffering, within a month of one another.  Bear, my beloved rescued senior Akita, also passed away.  He was so grateful to the vet that gave him the injection he licked her hands until the end.  I was with him, we were in our home and he was surrounded by familiar smells and people and things.  We rescued another Akita shortly there after, from Kentucky.  He was supposed to be about 9 or 10 years old, but turned out to be prematurely grey and in bad shape from being stray for so long.  He was actually 5 years old, heart worm positive and malnourished.  He is now 130 pounds, will flip his food bowl over if he doesn't like what is in there and has actually attacked and bitten the county sheriff.  Yes, I have a felon dog.
In terms of QTTR, we have two new board members, Maureen MacGillavry and Larry Jeffreys, who are great.  We have sent out approximately a dozen quilts per year for the last two years to a variety of both old and new groups.  We are getting ready to send quilts to the South Carolina Cat Rescues, and just sent out quilts to Dachshund Rescue of Florida, and Watermelon Mountain Rescue Ranch in New Mexico.  We also did Ties and Tails of Midland this year, as well as three local events with Bay City No Kill and the Greater Tri Cities Adoption Event.

I hope you are all doing well, and thank you for your support and understanding.
Hugs,
Roschelle

Where did the time go?

It is hard to believe that it is almost August and I cant remember spring coming or going.  I have found the following to be problematic:
    The older I get the faster time flies.
    The older I get, the busier I become.
    The older I get, the less I get accomplished in any given day.
I wonder if most feel this way.  I watch Bear and Tess, who are quite old, and it seems to take them far more time to do any specific task, like getting up :-) so its not just me.  I think time passes even more quickly for other species, although I dont think anyone has a way of measuring their perception of time across their life span. Too bad.  Always did want to speak to the animals.

Quilts are going out slowly.  We have had some amazing people donate this year.  True artists have sent me their tops, and I hope I did them justice with my quilting.  Such high standards to live up to, equates to that much more pressure for the quilting to be good.

Rescues have been oohing and aahing about the quilts they have received, which always makes me feel better.  I need to do a better job of passing on the cudos to the peicers who are our lifeline.  I cant thank them enough.
